The Smile announce their first tour, 31 dates across Europe

The Smile have announced their first tour, 31 European dates that open at the Hala in Zagreb on 16 May and end at the Teatro Antico in Taormina on 20 July. The band are Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with Tom Skinner, the drummer of Sons of Kemet.

The news comes three days after their first shows in front of an audience, three sold-out concerts at Magazine London on 29 and 30 January that were also streamed live. Two singles are out so far, “You Will Never Work in Television Again” and “The Smoke”, both produced by Nigel Godrich.

London gets two nights at the Roundhouse and Paris two at the Philharmonie de Paris, and the British dates also take in the Usher Hall in Edinburgh and the Albert Hall in Manchester. Tickets go on sale on Friday 4 February, after a presale for the band's mailing list on the 2nd.

The festivals on the run go from Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Les Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon to TW Classic in Werchter and Open'er in Gdynia. After the Montreux Jazz Festival on 12 July come four Italian nights, in Milan, Ferrara, Macerata and Rome, and then the last one in Sicily, in a theatre the Greeks built.
