BrooklynVegan has photographs from Kings Theatre. Saturday at the Beacon ran to 25 songs in about two hours. All three nights opened with the same four songs and kept Grinderman's “Palaces of Montezuma” in the encore.
A new song, “To Be Found”, came fifth in the set at Kings Theatre and again at the Beacon on Saturday. Cave told the Beacon it grew from fragments of ideas and that his son Earl had come up with the chords. On Sunday “Euthanasia” took its place, and Brooklyn had the tour's first “He Wants You”.
Cave talks between the songs about what they mean. When I perform these songs and sit at the piano, I start to work out what these songs are really about
1, he said on Saturday. The tour, which goes with the paperback of Faith, Hope and Carnage, his book of conversations with Seán O'Hagan, ends with two nights at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on 27 and 28 October.
Greenwood sat out “The Weeping Song” on Saturday. After the two of them closed the encore with “The Ship Song” he left the stage, and Cave ended the night alone with “People Ain't No Good”.
