The auction house says Greenwood used it at soundchecks on Radiohead's 2006 US tour and in the sessions for In Rainbows.
ATB Guitars, the dealer that offered it earlier this year, traces it to a July 2006 soundcheck picture of Greenwood on Dead Air Space, the band's blog. It was posted under the heading “America” with the file named “jonnynewguitar”. After that it turns up again and again in the studio pictures from Tottenham House and Halswell House over the winter of 2006 and 2007, among them “Back at the House” and “Set Up 1” in March 2007.
The Tennessean left Greenwood's collection through one of Radiohead's guitar technicians, whom ATB names as Pete Clements, the band's tech of many years. The dealer adds that the guitar still carries a headstock sticker and a case badge from Mozart, the music shop in Norfolk, Virginia, that first sold it.
