Ed O'Brien's studio diary describes it as a long, hypnotic thing indebted to Neu!, which at that point had no clear structure. What it became is one of the strongest offcuts of the period: an insistent groove with piano and organ over it that simply keeps going.

It was at one stage lined up for Amnesiac itself before being moved to the “Knives Out” single in 2001.

For a song that is essentially a groove five people could play, that is a surprise, and it may say something about how completely the band had moved on by the time the single came out.
