Ed's Scary Song
Not really a song: a webcast jam with Ed O'Brien singing phrases pulled out of a hat.
10 feb 2000
the second webcast
During the Kid A sessions the band broadcast from their own studio, and on 10 February 2000, in the second of those webcasts, they played this. O'Brien took the lead vocal, which he does not otherwise do, and by the accounts collected on the 2003 site he was reading phrases drawn at random out of a hat.
The words that survive are worth keeping: “we're the orchestra to your board / and we beg for the scraps from your table / all we want is to be like you”.
It is a jam rather than a song, and the band never treated it as anything else.
