Song · Pablo Honey era (1992–93)
Inside My Head
One of the two songs the band were trying to record when “Creep” happened instead, and the B-side of the single that resulted.
1992
the intended single
At Chipping Norton, Slade and Kolderie spent days trying to get a usable take of this and “Lurgee”, because EMI had one of them in mind for the debut single. Neither worked. Between attempts the band played “Creep” to themselves, and the rest is the most repeated story in this archive.
This song went out as a B-side on that single on 21 September 1992. The original plan had been a double A-side pairing it with “Million Dollar Question”.
It is a riff-driven rocker, aggressive in a way the band stopped being, and it appeared across later single formats in live and acoustic forms. Beyond the release history, almost nothing is documented about it.
