The Thief
A Can song from 1968, and one of the few covers Radiohead kept in the set for more than one night.
1968
can
“Thief” is an early Can recording, made in the late 1960s with Malcolm Mooney singing and released on the compilation Delay 1968. Can matter more to this band than almost any other: “There There”, “Dollars and Cents” and the whole working method of recording at length and editing afterwards come out of listening to them.
2000–02
ten nights
Radiohead played it ten times, from Copenhagen on 8 September 2000 to Salamanca on 7 August 2002, seven of them in 2000. That makes it one of their most-played covers, which for this band means it was played more than once.
