The version in this catalogue is Sparklehorse's, with Thom Yorke singing. Mark Linkous's band recorded it for Come Again, a double CD of acts on EMI's roster covering older songs, which the company put out on 8 September 1997 for its centenary. It is the third track on the second disc, credited to “Sparklehorse featuring Thom Yorke”.
Sparklehorse opened for Radiohead in Leeds in November 1995 and at Le Zénith in Paris in October 1997. When Linkous died in 2010, Colin Greenwood wrote on Radiohead's website that they had toured Europe with Radiohead at the start of OK Computer and been great every night, and that Linkous had introduced him to the music of Daniel Johnston and the writing of Pinckney Benedict.
