Thom Yorke joins DJ Shadow in Bristol to sing “Rabbit in Your Headlights”

Thom Yorke was the surprise guest at DJ Shadow's show at the Bristol Academy on Sunday night, walking on towards the end of the set to sing “Rabbit in Your Headlights”. Shadow had told the crowd earlier that a special guest would be along later in the evening.

The song is on neither of Shadow's solo albums. It comes from Psyence Fiction, the 1998 UNKLE album he made with James Lavelle, on which Yorke sang it. Bristol is one of three British dates for Shadow's new album, The Private Press, out here on 3 June, and the run ends at the London Astoria tomorrow.

Shadow played some dates with Radiohead on the OK Computer tour in 1997, and in March he told NME.COM how things stood between them. That would be amazing if they did ask me to work on something. They routinely ask me to tour with them, but the timing always seems to be wrong.²
