Radiohead ringtones go on sale as the band plan a mobile launch

first posted on Treefingers by Miro · rewritten for the archive

Radiohead ringtones are on sale at radioheadmobile.com, a site run by the UK company Inc Media Group, and it is running a text-message competition for a Meeting People Is Easy DVD. The question is the first name of Radiohead's singer, and the answers on offer are Tom, Tim and Toby.

The first tunes on the site's list are “Bones”, “Climbing Up the Walls”, “Creep”, “Fake Plastic Trees” and “High and Dry”, in mono and polyphonic versions.

The band's own mobile plans are the work of another company. Vijay Chattha of IPSH!net, the San Francisco firm that developed the campaign, has told the Associated Press that Radiohead will reach fans directly over mobile networks on the day Hail to the Thief comes out, 9 June.
