Stanley Donwood has a new book, Tachistoscope, published by The Hedonist Press in January. It is a slim thing, 20 pages on hemp stock at 285 by 103 mm, and costs five pounds. The first edition runs to 50 copies, each numbered and signed.
The title is borrowed from an instrument that flashes words or images on a screen for exactly timed instants, used to train people to read faster. Donwood wants it known that the stories in the book can also be read for free on his website, Slowly Downward.
