Blackout postpones Radiohead's Toronto show

first posted on Treefingers by Miro, Amie · rewritten for the archive

Radiohead's sold-out show at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, set for tonight with Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks in support, is postponed until further notice. House of Blues, who run the venue, give the power cuts across the United States and Canada as the reason, and the state of emergency declared by the Premier of Ontario. Ticket holders, who paid $45 to $55, are asked to keep their tickets until a new date is set; the venue expects to announce one within a week to ten days.

The Toronto station the Edge 102.1 FM had planned to broadcast the concert on Wednesday 20 August at 8pm. With it off, the Edge will air a recording of the band's show at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal last night instead, in the same slot and on its web stream.
