Thom Yorke fills a Montreal drum stoppage with “Big Ideas”
first posted on Treefingers by Miro · rewritten for the archive
The drums gave trouble in the first encore at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal on Friday 15 August, and Thom Yorke filled the wait by singing “Big Ideas” on his own before the band went into “A Wolf at the Door”. The song is unreleased; Radiohead have played it on and off since the OK Computer days.
It was the second night of the North American tour, two days after the opening show in Mansfield, Massachusetts, and the first in Canada. Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks opened, and the band were back in the park where they last played in August 2001.
