Manic Street Preachers cast Radiohead as Kennedy to their Nixon

Manic Street Preachers have been talking to Dorian Lynskey of The Guardian about their new single, “The Love of Richard Nixon”, out on Epic on 18 October. It samples Nixon saying he has never been a quitter. Nicky Wire, the band's bassist and lyricist, feels for the ugly duckling.

Radiohead are Kennedy, Manic Street Preachers are Nixon.

James Dean Bradfield says Radiohead, Blur and Oasis come across as groups of individuals, and that even Middle England knows Thom Yorke when it sees him. Strangers know Bradfield only as one of the band.

I never wanted to be anything else but the bloke from the Manic Street Preachers.
