Shynola look back on Radiohead's “Pyramid Song” video

Shynola, the collective who directed Radiohead's “Pyramid Song” video, look back on it in an interview with Patrick Johnson of Pulse of the Twin Cities. The video, in which a finned diver drifts through a sunken town to a house with a recliner and a dinner table, won them their first NME Brat award, for Best Video, in 2002.
The four of them, Chris Harding, Gideon Baws, Richard “Kenny” Kenworthy and Jason Groves, met at art school in south-east England. Before “Pyramid Song” they had made an animated piece for UNKLE's “Guns Blazing” on Mo'Wax, and their first music video, Quannum's “I Changed My Mind”.
Harding says the “Pyramid Song” job pushed them to the limits of what they could do at the time.
We were just four kids in our bedrooms and we were making things up as we went along.
Chris Harding1
For Kenworthy it stands out because they aimed beyond their abilities, worked hard and came out with something they were pleased with.
It was a very enjoyable time making that video and these days I find myself trying to recreate such enthusiasm in myself.
