Christopher O'Riley rules out a third Radiohead album

first posted on Treefingers by Miro · rewritten for the archive

Christopher O'Riley will not make a third album of Radiohead songs. The pianist, who followed True Love Waits with the new Hold Me to This, told the Associated Press that two is enough, between sound and light checks for a show at Joe's Pub in New York. He is preparing to record an album of Elliott Smith.

What draws him to Radiohead is harmony, and above all texture. Most pop, he says, is chords stacked up and down; in Radiohead the five members each bring a motif, and the weave of their parts gives him his way into each song.
