Radiohead called off the second of their two nights at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on the day, Wednesday 10 May, after Phil Selway's mother died suddenly. They had played the hall the night before.

A statement in the band's name gave a sudden family bereavement as the reason and moved the show to Monday 28 August. Tickets for 10 May are valid for the new date, refunds are available until 11 June, and the British dates later in May go ahead.

Many fans had come over from Britain, Drowned in Sound reported, and the band's apology was above all to those who had travelled far. Colin Greenwood said the same in a post on the band's website that day.

Selway wrote there on Thursday that his mother had died in the early hours of Wednesday morning, and that he had wanted to be at home with his family.

Mum was a big Radiohead fan, and was very proud of all we've done as a band. I love and miss her very much.
