Thom Yorke has used his online diary to ask the people reselling tickets for the Friends of the Earth benefit he is playing at KOKO in London to hand some of the money to the charity. The tickets cost £55, and within minutes of going on sale, NME reported, they were listed on auction sites at more than £300.

Might I suggest that those selling their KOKO tickets on eBay for stupid money gives a contribution… say 30 percent of their proceeds, back to Friends Of The Earth

Seems only fair, unless you're a shallow____, don't you think?

The concert on 1 May is one of The Big Ask Live, a series of British shows for the charity's climate campaign. Yorke and Jonny Greenwood play, with Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals and Kate Rusby also on the bill. Only 1,000 tickets were sold, two to a buyer, and all the proceeds go to the campaign. Friends of the Earth said last week that it had done everything it could to keep the tickets at its own price, and found it extremely disappointing that anyone would resell seats at a charity show for personal gain.

The Big Ask is lobbying for a law that makes the government responsible for cutting Britain's contribution to global warming. Yorke has backed it since its launch in May 2005, when he went to Parliament for Friends of the Earth. This month he said the best thing about it, for him, is that the sense of powerlessness has gone.
