Radiohead set 31 December for In Rainbows on CD and vinyl
Radiohead's In Rainbows comes out on CD and vinyl on 31 December, it was announced on Wednesday 7 November. Outside the US it is released by XL Recordings, the label the band recently signed with. “Jigsaw Falling Into Place” follows as a single on 14 January 2008, in formats still to be announced.
Since 10 October the album has been a download from the band's website and nowhere else, at a price each buyer chooses. A spokesperson says the details of the American release are not yet settled. Billboard names ATO and Side One Recordings as the front-runners to sign the band there.
The same day the representatives answered comScore, the measurement firm that reported on 6 November that 62 per cent of downloaders paid nothing. It put the average price paid at $6. the figures quoted by the company comScore Inc are wholly inaccurate and in no way reflect definitive market intelligence or, indeed, the true success of the project
1, their statement says. They will not give a figure of their own. as the album could only be downloaded from the band's website, it is impossible for outside organisations to have accurate figures on sales
