Radiohead's In Rainbows ruled out of the Brits' album award

In Rainbows cannot be nominated for British Album of the Year at next year's Brit Awards, NME reports, because the rules ask for a single or an album in the UK top 75 and the download never charted. It has only been sold from the band's website, at whatever price each buyer chose. On 1 October the Official Chart Company said it was getting no sales figures from the band and that the album's eligibility was in doubt.

Prince is out of every category, because his album Planet Earth, given away with the Mail on Sunday in July, did not chart either.
