Colin Greenwood records 30 schoolchildren for Radiohead's album

In March, Colin Greenwood and Nigel Godrich invited 30 children from the Junior Extension group at the Matrix Music School & Arts Centre to help realise an idea for one of the tracks on the band's coming album.

The school is an arts education charity in Sutton Courtenay, a village near Abingdon in Oxfordshire. It teaches music, art and ballet to children and adults. It has put the news on its website under the heading “Matrix students record with Radiohead”, with a slideshow of photographs from the session. The album itself will not be out before 2008, the band's people said yesterday.

The whole experience was great fun - for parents as well! - and we're all looking forward to the release date.
