Thom Yorke dedicated the refrain of “House of Cards” to that twat who walked away from the Kyoto agreement3 when Radiohead played the In Rainbows song on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Wednesday night. He named nobody, but it was George W. Bush who announced in March 2001 that the United States would not implement the Kyoto Protocol.

The performance was filmed in a London studio earlier in April and sent to NBC, and the band never went near the show's New York set. Drowned In Sound reports that they reckoned the trip would have put out as much carbon as driving a car for a whole year.
