Radiohead have paid tribute to Humphrey Lyttelton, the jazz musician and radio broadcaster, who died last week at the age of 86. Lyttelton took part in the recording of “Life In A Glasshouse” on Amnesiac, and the band's statement, carried in full by Uncut, credits his direction for the song being recorded and released at all.

We were all sorry to hear of Humphrey Lyttleton’s death – he was an inspiring person to record with, and without his direction, we’d never have recorded/released ‘Life In A Glasshouse’.

The statement ends by recommending Lyttelton's “Bad Penny Blues”, and suggesting that the way to mark his life is to put on some hot jazz.
