Thom Yorke attacks the government's plan for new nuclear power stations

Thom Yorke has attacked the British government's plan to build a new round of nuclear power stations, in a post headed “nuclear power no thanks” on Dead Air Space, the band's blog, on Monday. The government has tied the plan to rising demand for power. Yorke writes that the country doesn't have the money for the stations. He says ministers have committed to them under pressure from the Confederation of British Industry and on the confused assumption that Britain can go on using power as it does now.

He calls them too afraid to think out of their own isolated political fuzzy cloud¹.

Great. Just perfect. Well done fellas. You've really thought about this haven't you?
