A mystery remix of SBTRKT's “Hold On” is taken for Thom Yorke

Seattle's KEXP played a remix of SBTRKT's new single “Hold On” on 17 February, credited to a producer nobody had heard of, SiSi BakBak. Two clues have people saying it is Thom Yorke under a new name. The presenter, Cheryl Waters, said on air that the remixer was due to play Seattle's KeyArena soon, and Radiohead are booked there on 9 April.

The other clue came from the BBC DJ Rob da Bank, who tweeted that he was listening to the thom yorke mix of SBTRKT for the 18th time…unbeatable!¹

Fact reads the remix as a favour returned, since SBTRKT remixed “Lotus Flower” for the TKOL RMX series in 2011. Fact also points out that SBTRKT's last single carried a remix by Drake, which makes a complete unknown on this one hard to believe.

The remix is the B-side of “Hold On”, out digitally next week and on a limited 12-inch in May, and it loops small wordless vocal fragments across its length, which The Quietus takes for Yorke's touch. Nobody involved has confirmed who SiSi BakBak is.
