Radiohead fill their PolyFauna app with unheard music
Radiohead have updated PolyFauna, the free app they released in February, to version 2.0. The “Bloom” material it was built on has gone, and in its place is music by the band that nobody had heard, set to new scenery. The store's note on what has changed reads, in full, Entirely new
2.
In July Jonny Greenwood said the band would meet this month to play, rehearse and record. Thom Yorke had been posting images from the new version on Twitter, on 26 and 30 August and again today. The app comes with no tutorial, answers to taps and to tilting the device, and is still free.
Fans are recording the new pieces from inside the app and putting them on YouTube; Spain's Mondo Sonoro counts about an hour and 20 minutes of music in all.
