Radiohead close their Primavera Sound night with “Creep”

Radiohead headlined the Primavera Sound festival at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona on Friday 3 June, their first show in the city since they played the same site in June 2008. The main set opened, as it had at all seven shows of the tour so far, on the first five songs of A Moon Shaped Pool, in the order the album runs them. They came back for a second encore that was not on the printed setlist, a lone “Creep”. It was only the second time they had played it since 2009, after bringing it back at Le Zénith in Paris 11 days earlier.

Xavier Valiño, reviewing the night for Efe Eme, puts the crowd at about 30,000 and says they followed the set in silence. His one complaint is the sound, which lost its weight beyond the front rows. Giovanni Robertini of Rolling Stone Italia also found it too quiet, well below Savages earlier on the same stage. Thom Yorke's voice carried, though, Robertini says, and settled any talk that it had gone.
