Thom Yorke's rag & bone music scores the short film Time of Day

written up for the archive

The fashion label rag & bone has released Time of Day, a short film for its autumn-winter 2018 collection, with ten minutes of Thom Yorke's music under the whole of it. The soundtrack is a medley of his work for the label: “Twist” and “Stuck Together”, “Villain”, “Coloured Candy” and an untitled piece from 2015, run together with songs from Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, his 2014 solo album.

It is Yorke's second film for the label this year, after Why Can't We Get Along in February, which carried new music of his.

Thimios Bakatakis, the cinematographer on Yorgos Lanthimos's The Lobster, directed it on 16mm as a string of separate scenes in New York and Los Angeles. Lakeith Stanfield argues with himself on the street, Jon Hamm gets a shave and Pom Klementieff wakes in a motel room beside a reptile.
