Thom Yorke opened his European solo tour at the Teatro Verdi in Florence on Monday 28 May and began the encore with a new song, reported under the title “The Axe”. It runs almost six minutes, a slow wash of detuned synthesisers and electronic beats with Yorke's voice heavy with reverb on top. The song has not been released.

The second night, at the Fabrique in Milan on Tuesday, ran about two hours. Yorke said little beyond a quick thanks between songs, and he and Nigel Godrich danced through the set in front of big projections of particles, shapes and colour. The songs came from his two solo albums, with Atoms for Peace's “Amok” midway and “Default” after the first encore.

Yorke closed the Milan night with Radiohead's “Spectre”, which the band wrote for the James Bond film and released at Christmas 2015 when it went unused.
