Jonny Greenwood checked into tour hotels as Marty Funkhouser

Jonny Greenwood has spent Radiohead's last two tours checking into hotels as Marty Funkhouser, Bob Einstein's character in Curb Your Enthusiasm. He said so on Twitter in a tribute to Einstein, and posted a welcome letter from the Park Hyatt in Chicago, addressed to Mr Funkhouser, as proof.

Einstein, a comedian and writer also known as Super Dave Osborne, has died at 76 after a diagnosis of cancer, the New York Daily News reports. Greenwood said the news saddened him, and that he used the name in tribute to his beautifully pitched performance. So subtle. And to think it was all improvised.¹
