Barney Hoskyns gathers the Radiohead press in Present Tense

Present Tense: A Radiohead Compendium collects journalism already published about the band, starting with reports on their first concerts, when they were still On a Friday, and running through to long profiles. Simon Reynolds and Will Self are among the writers. It is out from Constable in February.

The editor is Barney Hoskyns, a founder of the music-writing archive Rock's Backpages. He says the pieces go a long way to explaining the band's seriousness, emotional grandeur and willingness to stare humanity's dystopian hi-tech future in the face¹.
