Atoms for Peace's remix of “Pyramid” scores a Rag & Bone dinner film

written up for the archive

Rag & Bone has released A Last Supper, an eight-minute film for its Fall 2019 collection, set to the Atoms for Peace remix of Four Tet's “Pyramid”. SpecialGuest, the agency behind it, and Aaron Duffy also made last year's Rag & Bone short “Why Can't We Get Along”, which Yorke scored as well.

The film documents the real dinner party that launched the collection, where the surprise guest was an artificial intelligence built by the artist and technologist Ross Goodwin. The machine spent the evening learning what a dinner party is, and showed the room what it had gathered at the end.

Nigel Godrich curated the evening's music. Chosen guests were filmed to generate data, and Tarik Barri, who makes the visuals at Yorke's Tomorrow's Modern Boxes shows, worked the footage into video-scapes live as the dinner went on.
