Two Jonny Greenwood scores make the Oscar shortlist
Jonny Greenwood has two scores on the Academy's shortlist for the original score Oscar, published today: The Power of the Dog and Spencer. Fifteen scores go through from 136 eligible. The only other composer with two of them is Hans Zimmer, for Dune and No Time to Die.
The Power of the Dog has already brought Greenwood a Golden Globe nomination for best original score, on 13 December. He is up against Alexandre Desplat, Germaine Franco, Alberto Iglesias and Zimmer.
Phantom Thread gave him his one Oscar nomination so far, in 2018. Ten years before that, his There Will Be Blood score was ruled ineligible.
