Thom Yorke pays tribute to MF DOOM

Thom Yorke has paid tribute to MF DOOM on Twitter, two days after DOOM's wife, Jasmine, announced that he had died on 31 October 2020, aged 49. He was a massive inspiration to so many of us, changed things..³

The remix he shared is his take on “Gazzillion Ear”, the J Dilla production from DOOM's 2009 album Born Like This. Two years later Yorke and Jonny Greenwood made the music for DOOM's “Retarded Fren”, released by Lex Records.

Yorke wrote that the way DOOM put words together was often startling in its genius, and that he had never heard anyone use stream of consciousness the way DOOM did.
