Jacob Paul Nielsen reports the remark in his review for Magnet, and puts the crowd at more than 3,000. He likens the band's first North American tour to Radiohead's 2006 theatre dates, when the In Rainbows songs were being tried out.
The show opened with “The Same”, Tom Skinner playing synthesiser as well as drums, and the last song was “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses”, Yorke's solo single from 2009.
Three songs in the Detroit set have no release yet. Robert Stillman, who opened the night with a solo saxophone set, came back to play on “Colours Fly”. On “Bending Hectic” Jonny Greenwood bent his strings hard against Yorke's falsetto as the song built into a wall of noise. “Read The Room”, near the end, is built on Yorke's bass and Skinner's groove.
