Radiohead's acoustic “Creep” opens Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 begins with Radiohead's acoustic version of “Creep”, and the song is first of the 17 on the soundtrack listing published today. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Awesome Mix Vol. 3 is out on Hollywood Records on 3 May, two days before the film opens.
The first two films opened on Redbone's “Come and Get Your Love” and ELO's “Mr. Blue Sky”. James Gunn's third and last film with this line-up of Guardians tells the origin of Rocket the raccoon, and he chose “Creep” as the sign that it is a darker one. It starts with Radiohead’s acoustic version of ‘Creep.’ And that’s just a much different tone from the beginning than the other two films.

The music in the earlier films came from the 1970s cassettes of Peter Quill's mother. This time it comes from the Microsoft Zune he was given at the end of Vol. 2, so Gunn could choose from any decade, which he told Rolling Stone made the job much harder. “Creep” shares the album with Heart's “Crazy on You”, the Flaming Lips' “Do You Realize??” and the Beastie Boys' “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”, and it closes on a re-recorded “Come and Get Your Love”, the song Radiohead have replaced at the start.
