The Smile report seven weeks in the studio, and more summer dates
The Smile have written to their mailing list from the studio. We're deep in recording, week 7. Reel 15.
2 The photograph that came with the email on 23 March is marked with the same week and reel, and the subject line was More North American tour dates for when we are let out of the studio
1.
The Fader and BrooklynVegan take the sessions to be the follow-up to A Light for Attracting Attention, the one album Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner have made together, which came out last May. Fans had read a tape recorder the band posted without a caption on 10 February as a sign they were back at work.
The North American run announced in January with 14 dates now has 19. Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional has a second night, on 21 June, which now opens the tour, and Austin has a second night too. In Canada, Québec City's Festival d'été and Ottawa's RBC Bluesfest join Laval.
The last night is Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago's Union Park on 21 July.
