Jonny Greenwood shares In Rainbows remade in Super Mario 64 sounds

Jonny Greenwood has shared In Rainbow Roads, a remake of In Rainbows made from Nintendo 64 sounds, on Twitter. His comment, posted on 24 January, was It's a-me, Arpeggio!¹, Mario's catchphrase bent into the second half of “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi”. He thanked Boing Boing for pointing him to it.

The remake, on Bandcamp and YouTube, is by a musician who records as on4word, and it covers all ten songs in the album's running order, with most of the sounds taken from Super Mario 64. on4word built them into SoundFont instruments and played them over MIDI, and told Gizmodo the job took about six weeks, roughly eight hours a track.

It went up on Bandcamp on 13 January at name-your-price, so it can be had for nothing, on the same terms Radiohead set for In Rainbows in 2007. The title is a Mario Kart joke, after the game's Rainbow Road course, and the record is dedicated to all toadstool beings².
