The Smile announce a vinyl-only live EP and a tour of North America
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's band The Smile have announced Europe: Live Recordings 2022, a limited EP on vinyl only, out on XL Recordings on 10 March. Five of its songs are from A Light for Attracting Attention, and the sixth is the trio's version of “FeelingPulledApartByHorses”, which Yorke released on his own in 2009. It comes six weeks after the band's live album from the Montreux Jazz Festival.
They have also announced 14 North American dates for the summer, opening at the National Auditorium in Mexico City on 22 June and ending at The Factory in Chesterfield, Missouri, on 20 July. Laval, outside Montreal, is the one Canadian night. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am local time.
In New York they headline Forest Hills Stadium on 7 July, after the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn and the Hammerstein Ballroom on last year's tour. Every other city on the run is one The Smile have never played, and Mexico City is their first show in Mexico.
