Phil Selway thinks Radiohead are close to coming back. He was the surprise guest on the Crow Hill Company's livestream “Live from the Annex #01” on 24 November, and, in Clash's transcription, called five years without a show a little break.

We've actually had a little break for a minute; the last show that we did was back in 2018, but we're coming back 'round to that point now.

The band last played at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on 1 August 2018, and their last album is A Moon Shaped Pool, from 2016. Selway's third solo album, Strange Dance, came out in February, and Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood's band The Smile, with Tom Skinner, announced their second album, Wall of Eyes, on 13 November for 26 January. In January Selway expected the five to meet at the start of the year; in March he put something of some sort a couple of years off.

There is just something particular to that relationship, that creative relationship and personal relationship, actually, you can't get anywhere else.

And all five, he says, have reached the point of thinking the break is over.

This feels like something to dive back into and really explore and see what other directions it can take us in.
