Yoo, who made Extraordinary Attorney Woo, told reporters in Seoul on release day that he was set on using the song at least twice, and it comes back later in the series, when the characters finally let loose.
Its outsider theme suits his main characters, Park Eun-bin's Eun Chae-ni above all, and he says getting it into the show realised one of his long-held dreams. It's a song that swept the '90s.

The series is set in 1999 in Haeseong, a fictional city where a group of misfits (Park, Choi Dae-hoon, Im Sung-jae and Cha Eun-woo) gain powers and take on a sinister organisation. Yoo drew on his own memory of the countdown to the millennium. As I was counting down on Dec. 31 [that year], there was a part of me that wondered if some great catastrophe might really happen a few seconds later

The song is also back on Billboard's Rock Streaming Songs chart, at number 24 on the chart dated 23 May. That is its 75th week there since it first entered in October 2014. Its peak on that chart is number four, in November 2025, and Men's Journal puts the streaming run down mainly to TikTok. In 1993 it got no higher than number 34 on the Hot 100.
