“(Nice Dream)” plays the Kennedy wedding dance in FX's Love Story
Radiohead's “(Nice Dream)” plays as John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette dance at their wedding in “The Wedding”, the sixth episode of the FX series Love Story, which aired on 5 March and reached Hulu the next day. A Prince song was reportedly played at the real reception. The show's music supervisor, Jen Malone, passed it over, putting the story's feeling ahead of historical accuracy, and told TVLine she used the Radiohead track as score rather than as a wedding song.
The couple marry on Cumberland Island, out of sight of the press, and dance in a church lit only by candles; the Tell-Tale TV reviewer singles the dance out as a highlight. The song sits beside an orchestral theme by the composer Bryce Dessner.
Malone knows it is a sad song, about happiness that does not last, and says its words comment on the couple's private moment. Of the two of them on the floor she said they're rising up and kind of being in their own world, where the world kind of melts away
