Thom Yorke plays “Atoms for Peace” at Letters Live's Earth Day show
Thom Yorke played “Atoms for Peace” at Letters Live's Earth Day show for Greenpeace at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Wednesday 22 April. It was his one song of the night, from his 2006 solo album The Eraser, and the song his band Atoms for Peace is named after.
Letters Live is the series in which actors and guests read letters on stage. This time the readers included Benedict Cumberbatch, Simon Pegg, Meera Syal, Sue Perkins, Mark Strong, the astronaut Tim Peake and Arlo Parks. Tom Odell played “Prayer” and “Another Love”, and Jon Hopkins was the third music act.
Yorke was back where he had played the same series on 30 October 2021, singing The Smile's “Free in the Knowledge” alone, the first time an audience heard it.
