Horgan plays Alex, a divorced 50-year-old who learns early in “Lockjaw” that she has arthritis in her jaw. At the end of the episode, moments after Alex has been with her on-off partner Patrick (Rupert Friend), her 18-year-old son Ruari turns up home from college unannounced. Ruari, played by Cillian Murphy's son Aran Murphy, climbs into her bed and falls asleep, and she lies there thinking as the song plays.
Horgan tells TheWrap the episode was always going to end that way. I'd written that it was going to be Radiohead, whether we got [the song] or not. I'd written that into the script a year and a half ago.
