Radiohead's first BBC Radio 1 session goes out on the Evening Session

written up for the archive

Radiohead's first session for BBC Radio 1 goes out tonight on the Evening Session, and one of its four songs is “Creep”, which is not on a record yet. The only one that is, “Prove Yourself”, led off Drill, out on Parlophone at the start of May. The other two, “I Can't” and “Nothing Touches Me”, go back to the band's 1991 demo tape.

Neale James is presenting the programme this week. Mark Goodier, its regular host until last Thursday, has moved to the breakfast show.

13 or 22 June?

Some listings date the session 13 June 1992. That was probably the day it was recorded and 22 June the broadcast, but no source confirms the recording day.
