Radiohead bring back “Bishop's Robes” at the Cambridge Corn Exchange

written up for the archive

Radiohead played the Corn Exchange in Cambridge on Monday 6 November, the sixth of seven nights on their British tour. “Bishop's Robes” was back in the main set. The new song had been played in Glasgow on the tour's opening night, 31 October, and left out at Brixton and Nottingham at the weekend.

Eighth in the set came another new song, “Man of War”, which goes by the working name “Big Boots” on this tour, and “Lucky”, out only on War Child's Help), was there too.

The order was turned round from the weekend. “The Bends”, an encore at Brixton and Nottingham, opened the show, and “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”, which had opened those two nights, moved into the first encore. That encore began with “Subterranean Homesick Alien”, another song not yet released. “You” came alone as a second encore.

An audience tape of the night keeps three bits of stage talk: a request for water for the people down the front after “Just”, thanks to the support band before “Stop Whispering”, and a remark before “Street Spirit” that began with never reading the press.
