Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood play “Airbag” for the first time on XFM
Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, just the two of them, played five songs acoustically on XFM in London on Saturday 28 October, and one of them was “Airbag”, a new song getting its first performance anywhere. Melody Maker) had trailed the session in this week's issue.
“Subterranean Homesick Alien” is unreleased too, though it has been in the band's live sets since Santa Monica in April. The session comes three days before the British tour opens at the Barrowland in Glasgow on Tuesday.
According to the notes with a recording of the broadcast, in the talk between songs they spoke well of Sonic Youth and ran down Green Day.
