Radiohead lose three Brit Awards to Oasis
Oasis won all three Brit Awards that Radiohead were up for at Earls Court in London on 19 February. They took British Group, British Album with (What's the Story) Morning Glory? over The Bends, and British Video with “Wonderwall” over “Just”. Blur, nominated against both bands in all three categories, won nothing.
Radiohead World Service, the UK fan magazine, had announced the three nominations in its January to March issue and asked readers to cross every limb for the night.
Two more results touched the band. John Leckie, who produced The Bends, lost British Producer to Brian Eno. The Freddie Mercury Award went to The Help Album, the War Child record that carries Radiohead's “Lucky”.
