Ed O'Brien wants no September deadline for the next Radiohead album
Ed O'Brien does not want Radiohead held to a September release for their next album. He told Paul Prentice of Radiohead World Service, the UK fan magazine, by phone in December that the band asked for a year to make it so there would be no pressure to have it ready by the end of July.
Obviously we're not going to do a Stone Roses, but we don't really want to have to have something out by September

January was to bring the band's first break of more than two weeks in years. After that O'Brien expects about three weeks in America from the end of March, playing the big towns and trying out new songs, perhaps some Irish dates, and a UK tour at the end of the year if the album allows.
He confirms “Bishop's Robes”, “Talk Show Host” and “Molasses” as the B-sides of “Street Spirit (Fade Out)”, and says “We Agree” will not come out. He found the Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party bizarre. One of the presenters welcomed Radiohead as the new Bucks Fizz.
The magazine's own fight is with Radio 1, and it sets each single's chart run against the airplay the station gave it. “Street Spirit” went in at number five without making Radio 1's airplay top 30, in the week the Bluetones entered at number two. “Lucky” was never playlisted. When a reader complained, Trevor Dann, head of production at the station, replied that Radio 1 had championed the band for years and had played “Lucky” many times.
