Radiohead play “Lift” and “Electioneering” at a rain-soaked Pinkpop
Radiohead played Pinkpop on the old racecourse at Landgraaf on Whit Monday, 27 May, and two of the songs were still unreleased: “Electioneering” came third and “Lift” eighth. The band had come from Paris, where they played the Bataclan the night before.
Algemeen Dagblad had named Radiohead among the biggest draws of Pinkpop's 30 acts. EMI has issued The Bends in the Netherlands this month as a “Pinkpop” edition, with a bonus live CD of five tracks, according to Record Collector's discography.
It rained all weekend. The Monday was the last of the festival's three days, and 55,000 people were there for a bill the Prodigy closed. Nederland 3 carried the festival live.
